It is a little short for this toy, and I want to make it a bit taller.
By using the turnbuckle from R/C model.
Cut the leg, flatten and drill a hole for both sides of the pieces.
Add the plastic washer on both sides.
Screw in the turnbuckle.
Done.
The 1-1/2" long turnbuckle are a little short.
Change to 2" long turnbuckle, and spring coils are added. Part 1 finished
The fists are not that good, therefore I decide to make some changes.
First of all, trim the ball joints from the arms.
Drill a hole on both arms in the center.
Secure the soft plastic cup to the arm by a screw. Plastic cup are from the 1/144 Turn A Gundam model.
I chose the fists from the Master Grade GP-03S Gundam, cuz the fists from 1/144 model are way too small. The screw took out some spaces from the plastic cup, so I trimmed the ball joints from the fists, it's about 1/3 of the sphere.
It is lots of fun to play with!
Comparison with the original.
It is quite match with Soul of Chogokin. Part 2 finished.
I don't know how to make the head of Mazinger Z, therefore I need to use the parts from the Mazinger model.
By using a small magnetic ball from Magnext, I can use that as the neck joint. Excellent movement and easier for me to customize.
The model parts are modified to gain room for the adaptation of the magnetic ball.
Epoxy might not be the good solution for gluing the ball on the model part, therefore I use mighty putty. Glue it on after my loosey paint job!!
Combine with Hover Pileder.
Part 3 finished!!
