THE FACE OF MARS

Somethings I wanted to give FACE OF MARS was a spear with a pyramid at the end and a shield of some sort but I didn't want to crowd the design.
I wanted him very Roman/Spartan like
Not only with look but at war tactics and philosophy.
He is very sentient and speaks in a ancient alien language.
I have added him in a small contest here in the states.

Ugh!....I wasn't really happy with the Villain like face. Just a little too crazy for my MARS character so I went with something a little more regal.

So for the past few months I have also been working on a Kaiju to be put in a card set and perhaps a video game if I get the votes.
Here is my Entry:

Secondary Attacks: Leech Lunge, Slug Hug, Corrosive Slime

Secondary Weapon: Psychotropic Mushroom Spores

Energy Style: Parasitic (Kaiju Blood)

Origin / Overview:
In 1968 a meteor spawning with hibernating alien fungus crashed landed in a back water Louisiana bayou. Shortly afterwards the space fungus grew into a giant mushroom. When local and government authorities went and checked on this strange phenomenon. The massive mushroom uprooted itself reveling it to be a giant mollusca-shroom monster.
Now 40 years later this Monster still terrorizes the planet Earth! Annihilating the agriculture with it's deadly corrosive slime trail ! Poisoning cities with it's purple psychotropic spore dust of doom ! It's so powerful not even the military can stop it ! It's Slugera !!

Ranged Combat
A natural born silent hunter Slugera excels at striking his target from afar.
Barbed Harpoon Tongue with Venom:
Slugera use a hypodermic-like modified radula tongue and a venom gland to attack and paralyze other kaiju before draining there blood dry or engulfing them. The tounge is sometimes likened to a dart or a harpoon. It is barbed and can be extended some distance out from the mouth of Slugera, at the end of the proboscis. He can launch it in a "spear"-like attack impaling his prey. Once his victim is successfully hit they are injected with paralyzing Toxic venom.
Psychotropic Mushroom Spores: Slugera has a Psilocybin mushroom growth on his back that unleashes a purple cloud of psychotropic spores. When breathed in or contacted on the skin the spores causes psychological and sensory effects that last immediately and could last indefinitely in both kaiju and humans alike. Kaiju's that are struck by Slugera's "Purple Haze" of psychotroic spores are not damaged by them but are left in a Dazed state of Cosmic confusion.

Grappling
Shorter and having a lower center of gravity, Slugera is an above average wrestler.
Leech Lunge: Slugera likes to go for the legs of his kaiju opponent. Sweeping them off there feet and pinning them to the ground. Ready and ripe for the pickings , Slugera sucks them dry.
Slug Hug: A simple bear-hug like maneuver where Slugera wraps his slimy arms around his kaiju opponents mid-section and squeezes the air out of there body, wearing them down.

Melee Combat
Slugera has decent hand-to-hand fighting skills.
Tail Lashing: Slugera's tail is very long and can be used as a whip, using his thick tail to slam and whip his foes.
Claws: Made more for digging in marshy swamp beds than using them for offence. Slugera's claws do only moderate damage.

Rage Attack
Slugera is a creature that has practiced the art of patience (or he's just lazy)and thus it takes a long time till his rage builds inside his gastropod body but when it does there is no place to run or hide.
Shroom of Doom: Once enraged Slugera's temperature raises to a boiling point which causes the Psychotropic Mushroom on Slugera's back to explode. The explosion causes a huge area effect blast and releases any remaining spores in a purple mushroom cloud resembling that of a lavender nuclear blast. Kaiju and human's caught in the blast are covered in spores of many different sizes, from microscopic to the size of beach balls. Creatures enveloped in the purple space spores suffer hallucinations, "Out of Body" experiences, schizophrenia, respiratory arrest, coma, emesis, hyperthermia and bleeding disorders. Slugera's energy is depleted after such attacks and has to wait till the mushroom regrows itself before using it again.

Movement
Amphibious: Slugera is able to travel on the land as well as on the sea.

Defenses
Although soft and seemingly fragile, Slugera is actually quite a robust little kaiju and can survive freezing weather and temporary droughts. When attacked, Slugera can contract his body, making him harder and more compact.
Toxic Immunity: Slugera is immune to all Toxic damage types.
360 Degree Vision: Like all gastropods Slugera's stalked, independently moving eyes make it difficult to sneak attack the slug/mushroom kaiju.
Corrosive Slime: Slugera's body is covered in highly corrosive slime making it almost impossible to Grapple him without taking Toxic damage.
Tone Def: Like all Gastropods, Slugera has no hearing and resistant to Sonic weapons.

Energy Type
Parasitic : Slugera lives off the blood of other kaiju and regains energy with every successfully hit Leech Lunge attack. Slugera has been known to eats his victims whole. If the victim is too large, then Slugra will eat as much as it can and leave the rest hanging out of his mouth until the first part is digested. This can sometimes lead to a kaiju being digested from it's bottom up and still being alive to watch and feel it

Personality
Slugera rests during the day in shady, damp places, then emerges at night to feed. He is carnivorous and predatory; feeding off the bodies of other kaiju.
His role in the natural order of life is that of a planet cleaner. The huge mushroom on his back is able to soak up most toxic waste and oil spills whether caused by man or by natural disasters.
Slugera is lethargic, dopey and somewhat dim-witted with no other motivations besides napping, cleaning and feasting. He is slow to anger but is quick and violent in his retaliation should that anger be aroused.
Human's mean very little to the daikaiu. Slugera barley recognizes there existence but helicopters and whirlybirds on the other hand, unnerve the beast. Especially when Slugera is traveling.

Weaknesses
Heat: Slugera has no resistance against Heat and Fire based attacks and takes heavy damage from such attacks. Slugera has even been known to retreat to damp hiding places when the weather is dry.
Light Sensitivity: Being that of a nocturnal creature, Slugera's stalked eyes are sensitive to Light and is blinded by Light based attacks.

I did get voted to have Slugera in the newest set of Kaiju Combat cards. The set comes out here in the States at the beginning of February.
Now I hope people like him enough to have him voted in as an Evolution card in an upcoming release and then the video game. It's a long shot but I'm keeping the faith.
Slugera did take third place on Stan Winston's "Create a Kaiju" contest on his facebook page and I was very proud of that accomplishment also.
I'd just like to apologize for being absent here for so long and not posting any Super Robot art but I've been off trying to make a few dreams come true.
